Role: Assistant Network Engineer

Location: Portsmouth

Salary: £29-33k

Highfield Professional Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a leading company who sit within the water sector.

They are looking for an Assistant Network Engineer to join the distribution team and help ensure that companies infrastructure is maintained, managed and developed accordingly.

The role will report directly to the Network Engineer and include:

* Designing and managing operational performance for a wide range of pressure management infrastructure from large diameter plug valves to smaller mechanical valves and associated equipment.

* Monitoring and maintaining a register of water pressures at critical locations on the network.

* Identifying areas at risk of receiving low water pressure along with providing possible solutions.

The applicant must have background in Engineering and be qualified to HNC, or equivalent, level. Network analysis experience in the building and calibrating of hydraulic models, along with mains and services laying knowledge, leakage detection experience and an understanding of leakage strategy would also be beneficial. A positive attitude to providing excellent customer service is an essential attribute for anyone who wishes to succeed in this role. The role will be generally planned work, however due to the reactive nature of water distribution systems the successful applicant will be expected to help with network incidents. There will also be a requirement to carry out some out of hours activities. All applicants must have a valid Driving Licence and successfully undertake our driver assessment.
