Highfield Professional Solutions are currently representing a consultancy with the recruitment of a number of vacancies on a Nuclear New Build. This vacancy is a permanent staff position based in Bristol.

As the Piping CAD Designer you will be responsible for the following:

Designer for piping and piping support.

Details of pipework:

Creates a piping design file for analysis units, following the routing of pipes in the 3D model designed by the layout designers.

Files all the relevant data for the various teams involved in the overall piping design process.

Checks the consistency of the data in the design file.

Performs checks on compliance with the layout rules specific to piping design.

Adapts findings in case of deviations listed of above.

Performs draft isometrics for checking purposes.

Routing of new pipe systems acc. to P&ID and dedicated support work described below.

Details design of supports :

Designs the piping supports (clamp, beams, anchor plate…) and models them in the 3D model

With input data provided by the piping calculation team, performs the calculation of the support, with abacus or software

Finalises the design of the supports in PDMS to make them ready to be sent to the contractor for execution activities

Some designers will specialise in electrical or HVAC supports design in connection with the layout team

The Piping CAD Designer is responsible for the detailed design of the pipes. They may specialise in the design (including calculation) of piping (or also electrical or HVAC) supports. The Piping CAD Designer has interactions with other members of the piping section including calculation and design engineers and also with the engineering layout section.

The Successful candidate must be at Designer level 2/ Designer level 3, have experience in CAD designing with significant experience in piping design with a good knowledge of piping layout and detailed design. They must have experience with PDMS and FA3/EPR with very good ability to work with 3D models. Experience in previous EPR or other nuclear projects is essential. All applicants must be able to obtain BPSS security clearance.
