Section Engineer, Tunnelling

£40,000 Per annum plus package

Are you a Section Engineer looking for a new role? Want to work on some of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects like the Thames Tideway and HS2 then this is the position for you!

Highfield Professional Solutions are seeking a Section Engineer to work for one of the UK’s leading tier 1 contractors. The ideal candidate will be working on tunnelling projects across Water, Rail, Pipelines or utilities, you will be Degree qualified in civil engineering or a HNC as a minimum with a CSCS card and NEBOSH or IOSH certification, you should also have good IT skills and be competent with MS Office including Microsoft Project. .

As a Section Engineer you will be responsible for providing engineering control and supervision to production resources, ensuring all compliance within the project and company systems are adhered to. You will be responsible for promoting Health and safety across the business and promote company rules, you will be accountable for establishing safe working cultures and practices as well implementing new company procedures. You will deliver engineering support to the project team ensuring the accurate implementation of all engineering controls and accurate ‘as built’ records of the work, Produce Inspection and Test Plans for all elements of the works and supervises the delivery of the project or plan, you will also be responsible for producing risk assessments and method statements for safe execution of the works. Support the Site Agent in areas where corrective action needs to be taken with the appropriate level of urgency.

Other Duties will include –

Deal with any actual or potential problems with resources promptly liaising with the Site Agent where necessary

Measure and report compliance with systems and required standards

Develop and maintain positive working relationships between operatives and staff; client and contractor; suppliers and contractors; public and contractors; and sub-contractors and contractors

Timely handover of works and Quality records without outstanding defects Ensure the project meets the expected KPI

In return for the above the successful candidate can expect a competitive salary up to £40,000 per annum plus excellent benefits that include, Company car/car allowance, company pension contribution, Life Assurance at 2 x notional salary, Single persons private medical cover and permanent Health Cover.
