Trainee or Graduate Recruitment Consultant

Working in the Engineering sector, with the unique opportunity to cover both the contract and permanent market, this role provides the vital link between candidates and clients. It involves attracting and winning new business, as well as developing the solid relationships we already hold with existing clients.

Accountabilities

Your role will be to build and maintain the rapport and relationship required to become a trusted advisor for our clients’ hiring requirements. You’ll find out what they do, how they operate, the best people to speak to in each department and the kind of people they like to hire, to name but a few.

Recruiting permanent and contract candidates for existing and new clients, this role will see you recruit at all levels, ranging from junior candidates to high level strategic placements in the UK and across the Globe.

About you

You will be degree qualified or equivalent, with a proven track record in sales or a clear motivation to learn. We use the World’s number 1 recruitment software, so you’ll need to be savvy with IT and basic Microsoft packages.

Great communication skills are also a must, as you’ll be speaking with a range of industry professionals every day. Successful Recruitment Consultants are motivated, ambitious and able to build strong relationships to capitalise on the opportunities available to them, as well as their team.

Confidence is key. Be confident in your knowledge of the sector, in the great training you have received, and that you can provide the best candidates on the market.

Training and development

You will receive full training from leading recruitment consultants in the business, coupled with on-going support and development, including the opportunity to gain full Recruitment qualifications.

You will be working alongside some of the best and most experienced recruitment consultants in their field, and this offers a unique learning opportunity.

Recruitment is competitive and rewarding. As such, this role offers first year on target earnings of £28k, with the potential to earn significantly more in subsequent years.

Resourcing Consultant

You will act as the vital link in matching the right candidate with the right vacancy. Speaking solely to candidates, you’ll gather essential information to ensure we can match industry professionals with our vast network of clients. Factors like location, salary expectations and information about their previous roles will mean you can fully understand their requirements.

 

Relationship building is imperative. Not all our candidates are looking for a new challenge immediately - their contract may be due to expire in 6 months, so they are just ‘testing the water’ to see what their options are once it ends. They might even just be seeing what the market is currently like. No matter what their circumstance, you need to gain trust and build unrivalled rapport to ensure Highfield are their first choice in agency.

 

Accountabilities

Day to day, you’ll be involved in candidate name gathering, candidate management and advert response handling.
Dealing with both permanent and contract vacancies, at a range of levels, each day will typically involve;

  • Sourcing and selecting industry professionals for our clients, by identifying skills to match candidates appropriately with vacancies
  • Preparing adverts for job boards and social media
  • Conducting telephone interviews with candidates
  • Networking to attract potential passive candidates, new to our database, using social media

 

About you

You’ll need to be a confident, resilient individual to succeed in the role of Resourcing Consultant. As it’s essential to get as much information as possible to make the perfect job match and gain future business leads, you’ll also need great people skills, and be able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with your candidates.
